Geneva Show 2015
CGI attended this year’s Geneva show in some force as we had a number of customers present at the show and we had work on display with three OEMs. Confidentiality prevents us identifying the cars, but one of our customers was delighted to have their car voted Top Concept car of the show. Everyone associated with the project was very proud.
Geneva remains arguably the most important show of the year, not least as it is on neutral turf in Switzerland so the show is not dominated by local manufacturers, but is a genuine showcase that the whole industry attends.
CGI co-sponsored the Car Design Night at the Bypass club in downtown Geneva. Our industry likes nothing more than letting its hair down and catching up with old friends. No doubt some deals were done too!
During the ceremony Owen Ready, Editor Car Design News, presented The Car Designs of the Year Awards. Maserati Alfieri Concept was announced as “2014 Concept Car of the Year” which due to overwhelmingly positive reaction is now confirmed for production in 2017. The bold design and styling of the New Citroen C4 Cactus has been named “Production Car of the Year”. Each year, Car Design News also honours a designer who has made a significant contribution to car design industry. This year Lifetime Achievement award went to Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro.
Next stop for CGI is the Shanghai show in April where once again CGI-built models will be on display. Both Bruno and Mick will be attending to catch up with both existing and prospective customers
